Dr. Steve Mimnaugh is a retired emergency medicine physician with over 35 years of clinical experience. He earned his biology degree and his medical degree from the University of Utah, and is a former Fellow of both the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.

A lifelong advocate for community service and outdoor recreation, Dr. Mimnaugh co-founded SPLORE (Special Populations Learning Outdoor Recreation and Education) in the late 1970s. As its first Chairman of the Board, he helped launch programs that made river rafting and other outdoor adventures accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Outside of medicine and philanthropy, Steve is a devoted husband to his wife, Jay, an oncology nurse in Salt Lake City, and a proud father of five. A passionate musician, he has been a member of The Disgusting Brothers Band, a rock band formed with close friends over 46 years ago. The band continues to perform at numerous charitable events throughout the Salt Lake Valley.
